The Importance of Being Grateful (and the science to prove it)

This time of year, people always talk about the importance of being grateful. We celebrate Thanksgiving, and may even share a few things we’re thankful for in life.

But what would it look like to have a mindset of gratefulness all year long? Here are 3 direct ways being thankful can impact us:

  1. Being Grateful Improves Our Physical Wellbeing: Studies have shown that gratitude is linked to minimized pain, healthier sleep, and a stronger immune system.

  2. Being Grateful Improves Our Mental Wellbeing: Gratitude can relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, leading to an overall healthier state of mind.

  3. Being Grateful Improves Our Relationships with Others: When we express gratitude to friends and family in our lives, we form a deeper sense of trust, love, and closeness with them.

Don’t wait for Thanksgiving to roll around to be thankful. Be intentional in having a mindset of gratefulness all year long.
