Every strong organization has cultural pillars – northern lights that help guide you forward toward your goals. So how can you create and bring to life cultural pillars for your organization? Check out these helpful hints:
Interview Key Stakeholders. Find out what key leaders, clients, or volunteers find unique about your organization. Ask them what they experience when they interact with, engage with, or work with your company. Then be sure to note any themes that begin to pop up.
Consider Your Goals. Once you’ve heard from key stakeholders, review (or create!) your ultimate business goals. Think through long-term goals, as well as short-term goals.
Brainstorm Values. With feedback and goals in mind, begin to brainstorm values that will help fuel you to get where you want to go and be who you want to be. Think through values like honesty, integrity, collaboration, and the like.
Pray. Before you solidify your cultural pillars, be sure you take time to pray. Bring your values to God in prayer, and seek his wisdom.
Here at Weber CPA, we consider ourselves more than a CPA because of our relentless focus on our 4 Cultural Pillars: faith, client focus, giving, and forward thinking. Be sure to share your cultural pillars with us – we’d love to hear them.
