Jeff Weber
President & CPA
an early love for math
Throughout his childhood in Oregon, Jeff always had a ready answer when someone asked his favorite subject: math. It came easily to him and he loved solving problems. He improved his math skills by playing cribbage with his family - calling out totals before his brothers, who were four and five years older than him. Eventually, this turned into a college major at Western Oregon University. Jeff graduated with a BA in Business with a focus in Accounting, and a minor in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Jeff and his bride Christy learned that her parents were planning to retire in Florida. Since their children - Katelyn and Matthew - hadn’t started school yet, Jeff and Christy decided to come to Tampa Bay in October 2005 before her parents even had a chance to get there! It was certainly a culture change moving from the Pacific Northwest to Western Florida. “I was close to becoming a partner in the firm I was working at in Oregon,” Jeff says. “So if I’d accepted that, it would have meant staying there for the long haul. All in all, the timing seemed right to move and it turned out to be a great decision.”
building a career and clients in Tampa
Jeff has had the good fortune to help many clients in his career. He is always learning - through mentors, training, and solving a vast array of client problems over the years. Jeff knows where his success comes from. “I realize my success is a blessing from God. He’s given me a strong level of patience - which allows me to listen and understand before sharing solutions.”
Jeff enjoys hearing from his customers. “I got a call recently where a client shared that after implementing some of our ideas, his company is seeing dramatic revenue growth. Nothing brings our team more pleasure than seeing our customers succeed!” Along the way, he has developed compassion and empathy for customers and team members alike.
Launching Weber CPa: more than just a cpa
Jeff shares, “I’ve worked in multiple firms, and I’ve seen great ways to help clients and pitfalls to help them avoid. Now I can bring the best techniques and ideas to our customers and culture.” How is Weber CPA different? 1) By bringing a second mile service approach rooted in faith to better serve business owners and help them reach their goals and dreams. 2) By bringing years of experience, education, training, and faith into all aspects of business. 3) By creating a culture that embraces the commands of Christ in every client interaction. When people used to ask Jeff what he did for a living, he’d simply reply, “I’m a CPA.” But after countless customers explaining how he and his team are so much more than that, his answer has changed. Now he answers, “We find that most business owners crave a trustworthy person to help them make wise decisions. We’ve created a business advisory program that gives recurring access to great business and tax advice, allowing you to tackle today’s problems and focus on tomorrow’s opportunities.”
When he’s not working
When Jeff’s not working, you’ll find him with his family and their two adopted dogs: Rosco and Toby. He also loves being outdoors, enjoying the Florida climate with a business or self help book in his lap. Jeff finds joy as well by leading Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University at his church. This lets him leverage his life-long love for math to not only help businesses succeed financially, but to also help individuals achieve their financial goals.
